You are liable as a landlord for the safety of your tenants, so regular inspections of 5 years or change of occupancy are recommended to ensure the installation is safe.

It depends on the size of the house/installation and how many sockets and lights etc. that are required. If you send us an email , we can provide you with a no obligation quote.

We can offer a service which produces a certificate called an ‘Electric Installation Condition Report’ (EICR). This will give you a detailed schedule of works that may need to be carried out to bring your installation up to the current safety standards of the current regulations (BS 7671).

How do I know…?

We recommend firstly contacting your letting agents with any concerns before we take any action. They should provide you with any information to the condition of the property and the status of the electrics.

If the fuse board is an old re-wireable or cartridge fuse unit with no RCD protection. These boards are not as reliable as more up to date consumer units are.

General questions

Yes we would, but we cannot guarantee any of the materials as these were supplied by you. However, if we supply any materials, these would be guaranteed for the warranty period, and we would replace them free of charge, up to the first year of installation.

After this time, we would charge an hourly rate to replace the installed materials. If they fall outside the warranty period, these would also be charged for.

Always use vetted and fully qualified tradesmen. We are members of the well-respected body known as ‘Check a Trade’.

We can assess the work done and give our opinion based on our knowledge of the current regulations and experience.

Yes to OAP’s.

Yes, but you would be liable to pay the costs of the work to be done. You may also need to get permission from the owner of the property first.
